Benefit Erase Paste v.s. Benefit Boing

Concealer is one of those things that's very personal. It depends on your skin type, tone, need... so knowing all you can about one before you buy it is important.

First is Benefit's Erase Paste.
Starting right off the bat this is not for everyone.
Erase Paste can be worn on blemishes, but normally it's thought of as an under-eye concealer because it has a very peachy undertone, which is a corrective shade for dark under-eye circles. I have it below in 2 shades, No. 1 Light and No. 2 Medium.

Then Boi-ing, which I only have in one shade inNo. 20. As you can see I way hit pan on this one. Boi-ing is a lot more versatile than the Erase Paste but they consistencies of the two are completely different. I feel like Boi-ing would work for a lot more people, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the better of the 2.

Let's break it down now shall we?

Some pro's and con's of Erase Paste:

Pro's:
-It's corrective
-Heavy coverage
-A little goes a long way
-Contains more product

Con's:
-Really Thick
-Can Crease Easily

Now Boi-ing:

Pro's
-Good Coverage
-Easier to use (less time consuming)
-Doesn't crease
-More versitile

Con's
-Not as corrective
-Can Crease Easily

These are two very different products and it really depends on what you're looking for in your concealer to decided which one is a better fit for you.
Personally, I prefer Boi-ing because I don't love the thickness of Erase Paste.

Let me know what you think of these products below!

August Loves & Let Downs

It's the first of the month again, so that means it's time for my monthly favorites!

Starting with face, I have been loving then EcoTools Domed Bronzer Brush. The handle of this is so fat, it stands up on its own. But obviously, that's not why I love this. The bristles are very thick and slightly dense, and super duper soft. It's marketed to be used for bronzer, but I use it for powder and buffing/blending all powder products.

This is a half favorite? If that's even possible. The Trish McEvoy Highlighter and Bronzer Duo, (that I've had for ages!) is a half way love because I only like 1/2 of this product. This was actually gifted to me a while back and I've had it for so long I don't even know if they still make it. But I love the highlighter part of this duo. It's shimmery and looks gorgeous on the cheeks! The bronzer however is really orange-y and you have to be cautious and use a light hand.

My next cheek related product is my NYX Blush in Bourgeois Pig. Funny name right? I laugh at every silly name across the board... don't even get me started on NARS & TooFaced! But it's a beautiful fushia-y pink color and it looks so pretty on the cheeks. NYX"s blushes are amazing in general and I know I've mentioned them way more than once. I've been loving this very girly colored pink this month and if you like pink blushes you'll love this one!

I love Rimmel's Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Liners. That's a mouthful. But if you can get over the annoyingly long name the product is fantastic. I don't know what it is but I've been on a taupe craze lately and this is one of the products that makes me thing the craze shall continue. I'd never thought about using a taupe eyeliner before. It looks so soft and natural but its still dark enough to be dramatic if you want. I love how versatile it is. I could wear this on a day with no other eye makeup, a more natural look, of a deep smokey eye. It compliments them all. The shade is No. 004 Taupe by the way :)

My last love this month is a new eye makeup remover I bought on a whim the other day at Ulta. The Lumene Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is the only Lumene product I've ever tried and I'd never heard anything about this product. I don't know what made me go for this one, but I'm so glad I did. This is suitable for eyes and lips and is made with 100% Organic Arctic Linen Seed. I have no idea what that is, but hey, it does it's job. It's paraben and alcohol free as well. The only thing it's not, is oil free. And I know many people feel they need to buy oil free eye makeup remover only. I myself use a makeup wipe and cleanse my face after removing my makeup so I don't mind it not being oil free. It removes my makeup easily and doesn't tug or burn. I will definitely repurchase!

My last product to tell you about is sadly, not a favorite. I had really high hopes for, and was expecting to love the ELF Waterproof Eyeliner Pen. What makes this unique is this is one of the first three pronged liners to be seen at the drugstore. I really love the idea behind this type of liner and I enjoyed the product for about 2 days before it dried out. Really, I don't hate the product, just the packaging. At first I thought I had not pushed the cap on hard enough so it dried out. Considering I liked it and it was only $2 I decided to pick up another one. The same thing happened after about a day or 2, and then the liquid liner started seeping out through the middle of the pen. I was really disappointed and do not recommend!

What have you been loving this month? Have any recommendations? Tell me in the comments below!

Bought Twice

It's so important to me that I'm creating posts that you all want to read. I constantly want to stay on top of it and be writing about things you all are interested in. I know a lot of you have an interest or need to know about drugstore beauty.  I decided to kick off a new series of posts titled "Bought Twice." Every once in a while I'll hop on here and tell you about the products I have like enough to re-purchase!

In the mean time, Please let me know what you want to read and always know that I do take requests! Like I said it means the world to me when you enjoy what I'm doing so if you ever have any questions or comments please don't hesitate to leave them below or send me an email!

These are all things I have actually bought twice, not just things I would repurchase if I run out. Take a look!

1) Maybelline Baby Lips in Peach Kiss. I love baby lips and this is one of the first few I ever owned. I love the golden peach shade and it's so comfortable to wear!

2)Nivea a Kiss of Smoothness. I own quite a few of the Nivea "A Kiss Of" lip balms. I love them to death! They are so creamy and silky feeling and they are very softening and hydrating. Of all the few I own the Kiss of Smoothness is the only one that I've ever bought twice. Not because I like it more than the others but because it's the first one I cam across and the only one I've used up!

3) Garnier refreshing Gel Cream Moisturizer. I've bought this in both the Oily and Dry skin versions, which sounds strange since those are complete opposites. But at the time I was using the dry skin in the winter and oily in the summer. I love this and will definitely repurchase, as I already have 3 times! Plus it lasts forever!

4) Clinique Liquid Facial Soap. I repurchased this is the normal and oily skin formulas. I've bought this twice and I do like it, but I won't be purchasing it a third time. I'm the type of person who needs to feel my skin care working, to believe it's working. And this was too gentle for me. I want a refreshing deep clean feeling from my face wash, and this just didn't work for me, but can for many people.

Tell me about one of the products you've repurchased below!

REVIEW: Maybelline Full n Soft Mascara

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in weeks! My posts will be few and far between for a while. Life has been hectic and I'm trying to get back on track, I'll do my best to have more up!

Anyways, let's get into it!

I am a huge believer that you can get good quality makeup without paying department store prices. Looking into the drugstore, there are so many options, a lot of great products get looked over.

This mascara is one of them. I never hear very many people raving about it, which is sad because it's a really awesome product.

Maybelline's Full n Soft mascara promises, Full, Soft, Thick Lashes. Mine below is the waterproof version, but it's also available in none waterproof of course.

If you're looking for a good waterproof mascara, this is one of the best I've tried.

If not, it's still amazing.

The wand is a thick, natural bristle brush.
I like both plastic and regular wands but this one isn't too special. It's standard but it does a great job at separating the lashes.

Another reason I like this mascara is because the stopper cleans just the right amount of product off the brush. Lashes get really clumpy when a lot of product is left on the wand, but this stopper cleans enough off that there's not too much product on your lashes.

No Product, No Curl

No Product, With Curl

With Product & Curl
It adds a lot of thickness, and makes my lashes look really full and volumized. It's also very black and dramatic so I feel like my lashes really stand out. The waterproof, really does an amazing job of holding my curl.

I really LOVE this mascara and would highly recommend it!

Leave me a comment on your fave mascara!

NEW: NYX Butter Lip Balms

I have been waiting for these to be released since the day I heard the rumors of them buzzing! I'm in love with the NYX Butter Glosses, if you haven't already read my review. And I can't wait for these to fall into my fingers... I'm expecting to love these, so they better measure up to my high set standards.
Available in 8 shades, all named after delicious desserts that make me hungry, these lip balms claim: "Addictivly soft and scrumptious. Perfect for adding a subtle hint of color for a naturally flirtatious pout."

Knowing the creamy, glossy, and hydrating feel of thee Butter Glosses, I'm hoping the balm is right up that ally!

Review: IONI Blushes

I know this review was way delayed! I'm so sorry for that!

So finally I have my review on IONI's Powder Blushes!

I purchased to shades, Affair and Miss Bliss.

Left to Right: Affair, Miss Bliss
A Lot of IONI's packaging remind me of NYX. It's very sleek and high end looking.

Top: Affair Bottom: Miss Bliss

As you can see from my swatches these are pretty pigmented. Make sure to "tsp, tap, tap" off the excess powder on your brush or you will come out as clown face! Although they are very pigmented, they blend nicely.

IONI does make shimmery and glitter shades in these blushes but I thought I'd mention these 2 are matte.

I'd say the one thing I'm not thrilled over is they are on the powdery side. Other than that I really like these and I think they're a steal for $2!

Have you tried? Do tell!

Crazy For Lipstick Tag:

The Questions:

1. How many Lipsticks in your Collection?

I'm not a huge, huge lipstick wearer and I don't have nearly as many lipsticks as I do glosses and balms and things, but total I have 33.

2. How old were you, when you started using Lipstick?

     I was 13.

3. What lipsticks cant you leave or live without?
I cannot live without my Revlon lip Butters. They are so comfotable to wear, hydrating, and the shades are beautiful. I also can't part with my Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks. They are super lightweight and pigmented!

4. Show a Lipstick you use, to stand out.

I love my Wet n Wild Silk finish Lipstick in No. 509A Cinnamon. It's a really eye catching almost red that isn't too orange. It's really unique. In the light it almost has a pinkish shadow and in the dark it's almost berry. It's a truly unique shade.

5. What was the last Lipstick you bought?
The last lipstick I purchased was from the new Loreal Pinks collection. The shade is No. 175 I Pink You're Cute. It's It's the perfect sheer cotton candy pink. I get so many compliments when I wear this. I feel like this is a shade that would suit a lot of different skin tones as well. The picture below really doesn't do it justice.

6. What Lipstick did you regret buying?

This wasn't very hard to answer. I regret buying my Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Pink Parfait. This is the first and last frost lipstick I will ever spend money on. They just don't look good on me!

7. What is your Fave Lipstick at the moment?
That's a really hard one... But I am really loving my Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya. It's a goregous and really wearable everyday shade but its just... so pretty! :) I love it a lot.

Sorry for the shadow!
But this pic really doesn't do it justice! It's a beautiful shade!

8. Can you show us a Lipstick you Love?

Maybelline Color Whisper in Pink Possibilities. This is a beautiful pink shade, but I love the entire line beacuse its a very buildable formula, so you can have a sheer lip or a more bold color, and the product is really weightless.

9. Most expensive/Cheapest Lipstick in your collection?

I belive the most inexpensive lipstick I own is again, my Wet n Wild Shine Finish Lipstick in Cinnamon. If I'm not mistaken these retail for under $1!

10. Do you Like, Love or Addicted to Lipsticks?
For me it's just like. Like I said before I'm not as big a lipstick wearer as I am my other lippies.

11. Show a Lipstick that reminds you of someone Special.

Sorry! I actually can't think of one!

I hope you guys enjoyed! I had fun making this one :)

Back to School: Tips and Tricks!

For back to school, or anytime in school really, there are always tips and tricks to being successful. I tried to think of tips that covered most if not all grades, so it doesn't matter which one you're going into!

1) Have an Agenda: It's super important to have all your assignments, due dates, instructions, and events all in one place. Many schools provide these for students but if your school doesn't, I recommend having one anyway. They are super helpful and it makes school work so much easier!

2) Get Involved: It's really easy to make new friends, and get closer to teachers, when you join sports, after school activities, and study groups. Especially if you join a group, you share similar interests, so it will be easier to make friends!

3) Stay Organized: Weather it's your back pack, your binder, your locker, or your desk, keep it clean and tidy. You don't want to loose assignments because your disorganized! There are tons of dividers and locker organizers you can use to stay on top of things!

4) Hang with the right Crowd: Don't make friends or be friends with people who will bring you down. I know from person experience! Be friends with the people who value your friendship just as much as you value theirs! And don't be friends with people who will get you into trouble! It's not worth it!

5) When electives are concerned: Everyone wants to take that fun class! It's true. But most of the time you can choose 2 or more electives. So maybe take another class that will get you ahead. Choose an elective that will benefit you later in life and advance you in school and outside of school. For example: Spanish.

Hope I was helpful!

Spotted! E.L.F Display at Walmart

I think it's great E.L.F is expanding and making their products more widely available. Previously, E.L.F was only available at Target. Now, displays and select products are popping up in HEB, CVS, now Walmart, and will eventually be available at Walgreens.

This is the display I spotted at my local Walmart, and may differ from yours. I do not know if E.L.F displays will be available at all Walmart locations or just a select few.

This 4 sided display included both their Essentials and Studio line products.

I'm excited to see if other locations will start selling E.L.F more permanently!

What are your thoughts?
As always I'd love to hear from you!
