Review: NEW Rimmel London Stay Glossy 3D Lip Gloss

A lip gloss... that makes your lips appear 3 Dimensional?
I feel like this could be either an amazing attempt or a total fail.
Take a look:

Rimmel launched a new collection of lip gloss that branched off from their original Stay Glossy Lip Glosses. Here is what the display looks like:

I personally LOVE the original Stay Glossy formula. The formulation of the original and the 3D is identical. What makes the 3D unique is the Duo-chrome, shimmery effect. Based on the different lighting, your lips give of different shimmery effects.

I picked up the shades "Back Row Smooch" No. 123, "Love at the Movies" No. 703, and after trying and loving those 2 shades, I went back and picked up"Lights, Camera, Action" No. 603! Lights, Camera, Action is not featured in this review, but it is a beautiful orange-y peach with gold shimmer.

The Shimmer:
Some of the glosses have more shimmer than others. Overall they all have a noticeable amount, even the ones with less shimmer are not that subtle.
The light catches these glosses beautifully. I love the effect. Each shade has a variation of shimmer, and some have more than one color of sparkles inside it, creating different effects. Although there is a decent amount of shimmer, you can't feel it on your lips. It's not griddy or harsh feeling.

The Formula:
What I love about these lip glosses is they are not sticky. Rubbing my lips together the best way I can describe it is smooth. It feels very light weight and i'ts not uncomfortable. You don't notice it when talking, and it's not the type of gloss that gets stringy when you part your lips. It is extremely wearable and I feel like even if you don't like lip gloss, you may enjoy these! And if your not big on sparkle maybe the original Stay Glossy line will suit your fancy.

The Applicator:
The wand on these glosses have a flat, paddle type sponge tip. It's similar to a standard doe foot applicator, but like I said, more flattened, and angled a bit, like a paddle.

Staying Power:
The original Stay Glossy and the 3D both promise to last for 6 hours on the lips, hense the name "Stay Glossy." Ehhhh, that's not true. Without eating these glosses last on my lips for about 2 hours, 2 and a half MAYBE. So disregard the long wearing statement. Honestly, the wear time is just average. But I don't mind reapplying because the shades are gorgeous and they are so comfortable to wear!

Swatches:
I attempted to swatch them in different lightings, so you could see the effect the sparkle has when light hits.

Is it really 3D?
Whether on not it's 3D is... debatable. I'm not sure it's possible to make your lips appear 3 dimensional! But it does give a very pretty duo-chrome shine. So it doesn't matter to me! I'm happy with them anyway :)

Swatched on the lips:

Have you tried 'em? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

NEW NOVELTIES!? Maybelline New Products Launch in the UK!

I was super excited when I stumbled upon these NEW products from Maybelline on their UK website. Fingers crossed these products make it to the US soon! I'm dying to try!

Take a look,

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream:
A new version of their original Dream Fresh BB cream, Maybelline has now launched the dream Pure BB Cream! Available in 2 shades: Light and Medium. Made for acne prone, oily skin. Maybelline says: "Our best blemish fighter that also covers. 8-in-1 with Salicylic Acid. For healthier and clearer looking skin today and tomorrow." I myself can't wait to try!!

Maybelline Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara:
This one definitely intrigues me! A new version of their original Volum' Express Colossal mascara, Maybelline now has The Colossal Smoky Eyes. Maybelline claims: "Kohl effect pigments for MATTE lashes." Matte eyelashes? Is that implying that regular mascara's have a non-matte finish? I suppose this is true as there are some mascaras that give a sheen or gloss to the lashes. I'm interested to see how Maybelline attempts to make my eyelashes "matte!"

Maybelline The Pop Sticks by Color Sensational:
These are again a giant mystery. Many people stated they saw these at CVS and RiteAid in February of this year, in the US! At that time they were released as a limited edition collection. These were formerly released in the US summer of 2011, again as a limited edition range. But now, they are hitting the UK! And the fact that they are on Maybelline's UK website leads me to believe they are not limited edition. So i have no idea if these will be re-re-released in the US again! (lol) Or if they are just now hitting the UK. Maybelline says: "Our fresh colour meets smooth shine... So sensational. Our crystal clear formula creates a tempting tint. Fresh shine in a stick."
I so hope Maybelline has come out with a permanent range. I wasn't able to pick up any from either limited edition collection earlier, but they looks so interesting! I really would love to try :)

Fingers Crossed that Maybelline releases these in the US!

Review: My *Holy Grail* Makeup Remover:

Hey Again :)
Today I have a quick review on my favorite way to remove my makeup and get a fresh and clean face at the end of the day, the Up & Up Makeup remover Cleansing Towelettes.

How I Use Them:
Let me start by saying I don't use these to cleanse my face. I use the to remove my makeup only. On a normal day I will follow up with a cleanser after I remove my makeup to remove impurities and get me skin as clean as possible. Every once in a while, if I'm feeling a bit lazy or I'm tired, I may skip the cleanser and crash for the night.

My Reasoning:
I have used tons of different makeup wipes and these are the ones I have been loyal to for about a year now. I have tested out Neutrogena, Estee Lauder, Maybelline, Walmart's Equate brand, "Yes to Cucumbers". and many more wipes. These work best for me!

Specifics:
Up & Up has several different versions of their wipes. They are all supposed to compare to another, more expensive, drugstore brand. For example, my favorite, the Up & Up blue packaged cleansing wipes, compare to Ponds Clean Sweep wipes. I also enjoy the purple packaged ones, that compare to Neutrogena's.

Why I Love Them:
-They remove all my face makeup
-They remove eye makeup easily without tugging on my eyes
-They remove waterproof eye and face makeup
-Many of them are quilted or texture to make removal easier
-Not at all harsh
-Affordable!

Available at Target.

NEW Novelties!? NYC New Products

Again, I Know! On the same trip to the drugstore where I discovered the new Rimmel products, I also discovered this new NYC display!

NYC is one of the more cost friendly makeup lines at the drugstore, however, sometimes they can skimp on the quality of their products. (Just my personal opinion) But you love their line, take a look!

The display I stumbled upon had several nail polish duos, and some jumbo lip pencils!
I'm not sure about the prices, or weather or not these are limited edition, so keeps your eyes open at your local drugstore if your interested!

NEW Novelties!? Rimmel London NEW Releases:

Hi again.
Hope you all are having a wonderful Saturday thus far!

Today, while walking around the beauty isle in my local grocery store (how could I not?) I noticed QUITE a few new beauty releases that I haven't seen advertised or promoted, at all! I was pleasantly surprised!
Way to keep your new launches on the DL Rimmel!

As I stated, there was no news of these coming to the US, so all information pulled was from uk.rimmellondon.com

Take A Look:

Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Lip Gloss:
Some of you may be familiar with Rimmel's original Stay Glossy lip gloss. I personally think these are a hidden treasure of the drugstore makeup world, seeing as I think their amazing but they don't get much love in the beauty community. Rimmel has now released a new version of these lip glosses, the Stay Glossy 3D Lip Gloss. Rimmel claims: "Multi Dimensional Lucius Lips. Up to 6 hours of Hi-Def Colour and shine. Bring your lips into a new dimension with a multi-coloured shine coming from every angle! Thanks to it's new colour changing sparkles, your lips will look fuller, shinier, and with a stunning colour change depending on the light."
While looking around I did pick 2 shades up and I will have a review posted very soon!

Moisture Renew Lip Stick New Shades
To accompany the glosses, Rimmel has also released new shades of their Moisture Renew Lip Sticks. I personally love the original lipsticks and look forward to sorting through their newly launched shades! Rimmel Claims:Ingredients
"Lips so cared for, true colour is maximised! Maximised, radiant colour. Innovative formula with 3 super Moisturisers. Lips feel up to 70% more hydrated and up to 60% smoother! SPF 20, Vitamins A, C and E for protected lips."

IngredientsLips so cared for, true colour is maximised! Maximised, radiant colour. Innovative formula with 3 super Moisturisers. Lips feel up to 70% more hydrated and up to 60% smoother! SPF 20, Vitamins A, C and E for protected lips.
Ingredients
Rimmel Exaggerate Undercover Eyeshadow Primer:
This one is actually kinda a mystery to me. Rimmel doesn't have anything on their US or UK site about this product, although it has already been released in the UK. There are very few drugstore eye primers around so it's nice to see another brand putting one out. Off the top of my head I can only think of Milani's, which is fairly new, NYX's which is only available at select locations, E.L.F.'s, which is available at target and online, and I believe Hard Candy has one? Don't quote me on that. But as far as that list goes, not every drugstore carries all of the brands listed, so it's nice to have a variety. But as I said, this product is a mystery. However, I was able to gather that this product has a doe foot applicator, and promises to "Maximize the colour and wear of your eyeshadow."

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara:
Rimmel seems to release new mascaras left and right, and to be 100% honest, I've never been blown away by the few I've tried. This one however has sparked my interest. I refrained from purchasing this time but I may go back and do so.
"Our first ultra lengthening mascara that defies the laws of lash length!
- Length that defies limits
- Formula with Micro-Fibres
- Instant wow: Extends lashes by up to 99%
- Lash-catching brush grabs every lash for perfect separation.  No clumps!"
says Rimmel
I am skeptical when mascaras claim to do lengthen or volumize by a certain number of percents. I mean really, have you ever seen someone walking around wearing mascara that has improved their lashes by 99 percent!? I mean really. But hey, products prove me wrong and blow my mind all the time.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Curve Alert Mascara:
Rimmel recently released another mascara, a new version of their Scandal Eyes, Scandal Eyes Curve Alert. 'Lifts and Plumps Every Lash" with a 50% larger brush. The scandal eyes mascara wands were already ginormous. Oh my! I'm not too overly excited about this one. The previous and original formulations of the scandal eyes mascaras didn't impress me very much. They just didn't work for me. But hey, if you loved the earlier versions, maybe you'll enjoy these!

Display Picture:

Will you be giving any of these new products a go? I'll post my reviews on the ones I go ahead and try out shortly! Keep an eye out for new Rimmel London displays at your local drugstore!

Review: NEW Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks

Hi Again :)
Is it just me or is hard to come up with different intro's to every post!?
Anyway, today I have a review on the new Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipsticks.

These retail from $5.99-$8 depending on where you purchase them and are available in 10 different shades.

The claims: "Lightweight color, moisturizing shine. A silky lightweight formula that lets you indulge your decadent side."

My findings:
I purchased 3 shades: Fuchsia Shock, Berry Couture, and Lovers Coral.

Vibrancy: These colors look extremely pigmented in the tube. One of the things I absolutely LOVE about these lipsticks is they are buildable, so they can be applied to look bright and bold, like the appear in the tube, but you can also apply them more sheer. If they are applied lightly they are extremely wearable. I myself am not a huge fan of bold colors that I can't wear all the time but another thing I absolutely LOVE  about these is even when they are applied heavily I still feel comfortable wearing a more bold color. And I don't normally wear more vibrant colors but I still feel like they are workable in an everyday environment. I myself have natural quite pigmented lips, so these colors may appear slightly different on someone who has less pigmented or more pigmented bare lips.

Texture, Consistency, Finish, Feel: These have a really comfortable, slightly slick feeling on the lips. It's not so slick that it travels all over but its more of a slick constancy than creamy feeling of an ordinary lipstick. Very similar to a lip balm. These aren't a bothersome lip product. You can feel it on your lips, but the slight slickness isn't an awkward feeling. As the name imply's, these have a sheen. Not a glossy finish but a true "shine." And that shine is a bit hydrating, not that of a lip balm, but by no means does this product fry out the lips.

Staying Power: These wore on me for maybe 2 hours before it lost the shine and only a slight pigment stayed behind. With the deeper shades, it left more of a tint after the actual product had worn away. As they wear, the tack fades off and the color goes from the middle out. If you reapply you shouldn't have any problems.

Extras: These have no scent, or if they do it's not one I can detect. They also don't have a taste or flavoring either. As far as the packaging, it was a bit disappointing to me as it felt the slightest bit cheap, like hollow plastic. But that doesn't stop me from loving the product inside!

Lovers Coral
Berry Couture
Fuchsia Shock
The first shade, Lovers Coral, is the most sheer of the bunch. It looks beautiful on the lips but if you want that full pigmentation you really have to build it up.

Applied sheer, then built up
The next shade, Berry Couture, is a deep berry shade with a lot of purple tones.

Applied sheer, then built up
The last shade, Fuchsia Shock, is a very pink, but still wearable, fuchsia. It does appear quite bold, but on the lips, it was surprisingly not over dramatic. If you are one of those people who are afraid to wear bold shades, maybe give this one a try.

Shades swatched on my lips:

Left to Right: Bare lips, Berry Couture, Lovers Coral, Fuchsia Shock
Now available at your local drugstore.

 Love you guys!
Talk to you soon :)
